Meet rebecca

My name is Rebecca Brock. I have over 20 years of experience in the world of OT, and I cannot wait to put those years to work for you and your adventurer!

I can honestly say that there has been no greater joy in my life than the blessing of being a parent, but I also know it comes with challenges. As the mother of two rambunctious boys, I know first hand the value of getting outside and letting them “get the wiggles out”.

Nature’s Edge was founded out of a great passion for a few of my favorite things: children, nature, and occupational therapy. After so many years of working in public schools, it became clear to me that something was missing- kids need time and space to just be kids! We live in such a fast paced, tech centered world, that sometimes we just need that moment to disconnect from the day to day and reconnect to what matters. At Nature’s Edge I’m striving to create those moments for you and your children while nurturing and skillfully supporting their developmental journey along the way.

Let’s start adventuring!

your child might benefit from OT if they need help with:

  • Attention & Focus at school

  • Following directions

  • Visual Perceptual Skills

  • Sensory Processing

  • Organization

  • Social Skills

  • Problem Solving

  • Strength & Coordination

  • Fine Motor Skills

FAQ

What is Pediatric Occupational Therapy?

Pediatric Occupational Therapy involves working with children to improve their function and build their confidence. Occupational Therapy addresses skills that are meaningful to your child, allowing them to more fully and successfully engage in everyday tasks. These tasks may take place at home, school, sports, or out in the community.

Who would benefit from Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy is beneficial for children experiencing a wide range of conditions or concerns. While some children may have a medical diagnosis, others just require a bit more time and skilled instruction in order to make the progress they need. Some common diagnoses may include:  Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, & Developmental Coordination Disorder

Does my child need a medical diagnosis and/or physician referral?

No. While a lot of children who receive pediatric Occupational Therapy do have a medical diagnosis, it is not necessary.

Do you take insurance?

At this time, Nature's Edge is a private pay clinic and does not accept insurance as payment. Superbills are provided to give you the opportunity to request an out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance carrier. We also accept HSA payments. Remaining a private pay company ensures that the collaborative needs of the client and their families always come first, not to be interfered with by insurance company mandates.

Why Nature?

In addition to my own observations of children thriving in the outdoors, there is extensive research that supports child development and outcomes in nature. When children are exposed to environments away from the "built world", they are more likely to achieve a calm and focused state, more cooperative and creative play, improved physical and mental health, independent engagement in multi sensory experiences, and so much more. Plus, I just think it's more fun!
